Need Tank Roof Insulation?
BIG Storage Tank Roof Insulation Systems
We install standing seam insulation systems for fixed storage tank roofs. Our tank roof insulation comes as a stand-alone system or combines with our vertical panel storage tank sidewall insulation.
Design configurations include radial, X-design, straight and tapered for the purpose of insulating storage tank roofs of flat, cone or dome shape.
Metal Sheathed Polyiso Panel Insulation
BIG’s tank roof insulation panels use foil-faced, closed-cell polyisocyanurate foam laminated onto an aluminum outer sheathing. Polyiso provides excellent R-value (the capacity of an insulating material to resist heat flow – higher R-values mean greater insulating power) per measure of thickness and resists moisture. Plus, a roof load compressive strength of 20-25 psi allows foot traffic on the exterior surface.
Wide Range of Tank Roof Insulation Applications
Adding a second, inner layer of insulation will extend the temperature range of our tank roof insulation systems. Optional insulation materials include mineral wool, fiberglass, polyisocyanurate, calcium silicate, perlite, foam glass and aerogel. Our insulation experts will help to evaluate your operating requirements and design a system that suits your needs.
Lower Maintenance & Installation Costs
Our storage tank roof insulation moves with thermal expansion and contraction while holding itself in place. This capability reduces the risk of potential wind and water damage resulting from panels that have loosened over time. Furthermore, the double seamed panel connections seal out rainwater and withstand hurricane force winds. Optional non-welded roof plate attachments enable installation while the tank remains in service, therefore avoiding costly downtime (some tanks may require welded roof plate attachments). The end result reduces long-term maintenance and installation costs.
